Rose Herrera from the Office of Developmental Disability Services will introduce the core concepts of Home and Community Based Settings (HCBS) and Individually-Based Limitations. Oregon ISP trainers Alan Lytle and Danelle Moore will highlight changes to the ISP related to HCBS.
People who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities have the same civil rights as people who do not. Home and Community Based Settings (HCBS) and services offer people the help they need without infringing on their rights. HCBS also provides real opportunities for people to live the community life they want.
Why should you attend?
- People who provide support in Home and Community Based Settings or facilitate these services are responsible to understand the HCBS rule and what they can do to honor it.
- People and families who know their rights are more able to advocate for those rights. It is important for you to be able to explain these rights to people and their families.
